The Hero Group, on a mission to delight consumers by conserving the goodness of nature, has appointed Giovanni Ciserani to its board following the retirement of long-standing member Michael Pieper. Ciserani was appointed during the Group’s Annual Shareholders’ Meeting held at its headquarters in Lenzburg, Switzerland, on March 29, 2017.
Verona-born Ciserani, 54, currently holds the position of Group President, Global Fabric & Home Care, and Global Baby & Feminine Care with Procter & Gamble. He completed his studies at the renowned Bocconi University in Milan.
“Giovanni (Ciserani) brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in the FMCG sector gained over 30 years with P&G, something that will no doubt prove to be an asset for the Hero Group,” said Dr Hasso Kaempfe, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hero Group.
From his part, Ciserani said: “I am looking forward to sitting on the Hero Group board. This is not only an honor but a privilege, and I hope to contribute to the company’s continued success in the future.”
Ciserani will replace Michael Pieper, who retired from the Hero Group’s Board of Directors as he reached the age limit of 70 years as stipulated by the company’s by-laws.
“The contribution Michael (Pieper) has made to the Hero Group is immense and for that he deserves all our gratitude and appreciation. We are very lucky to have had him on board for all these years,” Dr Arend Oetker, Honorary Chairman of the Hero Group Board of Directors, said.
Pieper served on the Hero Group Board since 1997.
