Your voice matters
At Hero, openness and transparency are the bedrock of our culture. They are rooted in our company values that lie at the heart of all that we do.
We believe that our people (and those external to our company) should have the right to raise concerns and report instances of misconduct, anonymously and without fear of retaliation. By upholding our people’s freedom to raise concerns we are empowering them to safeguard our culture of openness and high ethical standards.
How it works
The online platform allows Hero employees and external partners to report cases they believe are abusive, be it harassment, misconduct, bribery, unethical behavior, or corruption. This tool can also be used in situations whereby people believed they were not treated correctly because of their gender, race, nationality, religion, or other reason.
Clicking on the appropriate links on this page or scanning the QR code allows you to file a report, highlighting your complaint. This will be received by an independent external party and evaluated. If a case of abuse is suspected, investigations will be launched at the company.
“We want to not just talk the talk, but walk the walk. SpeakUp® is an important tool to help you if you feel you were the subject of any misconduct, or if you know of irregularities but do not know where to turn. No abuse will be tolerated.”

Last resort principle
We take the wellbeing of our people and external partners very seriously. This is why we have introduced the SpeakUp® tool across all our geographies. SpeakUp® should only be used as a last resort, meaning there is no other option, and where confidentiality and anonymity are paramount.
For colleagues, we recommend handling cases via their line or HR managers first. The same applies to external partners, who are asked to handle any issues directly with their local representatives initially.
If these attempts do not work, then SpeakUp® should be used as a last resort.
When should SpeakUp not be used
It can be very daunting – and lonely – when faced with such situations where you are being victimized and have no way out.
However, a supplier not having a contract renewed, or Hero employees having to deal with missing toilet paper or questionable coffee in the canteen can be quite annoying, but these do not qualify as cases of abuse and SpeakUp® must not be used.
We are also wary that the platform could itself be abused – this, too, will not be tolerated and action will be taken if this arises.
